Adobe on how to create a forgery – er, masterpiece

We were struck by Adobe’s campaign in which digital artists patch together stock art to recreate lost, stolen or destroyed masterpieces by Rembrandt, Frida Kahlo and others.

It’s an undeniably cool demonstration of the possibilities with (Adobe) stock images. And the time-lapse videos make it all look incredibly easy (don’t get our production people started on that last point).

Very clever of Adobe (and their agency) to use digital images to recreate these works. We can marvel at how close it gets to the original, yet don’t consider it a forgery since it doesn’t use paint, brushes and canvas. Well done.
