Simplifying the complex has always been our thing.
Now everyone is jumping on the bandwagon (we’re looking at you, Marie Kondo!). If you’d like to simplify in 2020, we’ve got some helpful tips for a great new year.
1.
Discard things that don’t bring you joy (á la Ms. Kondo). We suggest 4:30 p.m. meetings and Microsoft Excel.
2.
Wear the same thing each day like Steve Jobs did to cut down on decision making (and laundry).
3.
Nap during your commute to rejuvenate yourself. (Note: Not recommended if you drive.)
4.
Slack. Not the productivity app, though that could help. We just mean actually do less.
5.
Write shorter emails.
No one reads them anyway.
No one reads them anyway.
6.
Declutter your mind. No Trump. No social media. And definitely no Trump on social media.
7.
Don’t be so “extra” – that is, going out of your way to prove your value. We like you just the way you are.
8.
Delegate more. We’re always glad to help (nudge, nudge).
9.
Stop multitasking. We all think we’re good at it but…sorry, what were we saying?
10.
Eliminate excess reading. We just deleted the last 10 items on this list to save you time! You’re welcome.
