Enrollment strategy pays big dividends for Access Health CT.

As the rollout of Health Care Reform continues, we’re happy to report that Connecticut and our client Access Health CT (the state’s official health insurance marketplace) continue to lead the way in enrollment success. During the first three months of open enrollment, Connecticut has far outpaced all other states. A few of Connecticut’s accomplishments:

• Achieved 207% of its second-month enrollment target.1

• Enrolled over 7,500 on December 23 alone (the last day to be eligible for January 1 coverage), more than many states enrolled during the entire month of October! 2

• Enrolled over 67,000 as of December 31, 2013, keeping the state on pace to reach first-year goals.

So what accounts for Connecticut’s impressive numbers? One of the major factors has been a marketing strategy that steadily built awareness of Access Health CT benefits like tax credits, then shifted focus to its unique array of enrollment options. For example, in-person Enrollment Centers and Enrollment Fairs allowed Access Health CT to take its enrollment efforts directly to the people, rather than simply rely on a website.

Recognizing the appeal of free, one-on-one help to consumers confused by health insurance, our advertising drove consumers to these channels. It also highlighted the experiences of real people and their savings stories, providing real-life examples that individuals and families could relate to easily.

As the January 1 deadline for coverage approached, we ramped up the urgency of our efforts considerably, updating all communications in market to drive immediate enrollment. The results speak for themselves.
